Course Content

During the first-year you will develop a general understanding of digital:

• how digital technologies impact business and market environment
• the ethical and moral implications of digital technology
• using data in software design
• using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
• digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
• legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies
• the privacy and confidentiality of personal data
• the technical, physical and human aspects of internet security
• planning digital projects
• testing software, hardware and data
• digital tools for project management and collaboration

You will also learn about topics specific to digital support services, including:

• roles within the digital support services sector
• communication in digital support services
• fault analysis and problem resolution

During the second-year you will focus on cyber security including:

• Apply procedures and controls to maintain the digital security of an organisation and its data
• Propose remediation advice for a security risk assessment
• Discover, evaluate and apply reliable sources of knowledge

Course Assessment

The course is assessed in year one with two examinations and an employer set project. During the second-year, assessment is based on an occupational specialism and completion on a substantial work placement. All assessments are externally marked, there is no course work involved.

Qualifications

Level 3 T-level Digital Support Services (cyber security specialism)

Progression

Employment, higher or degree level apprenticeship or higher education such as a degree or a HTQ.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including maths and English language.
