Course Summary
This qualification (C&G 2391-52) provides an opportunity for practising electricians to gain or refresh knowledge & skills for Electrical Inspection, Testing Certification & Reporting of Electrical Installations. This is a Fastrack course for qualified and experienced practicing electricians only.
Course Content
This qualification covers the single unit knowledge, which covers safe isolation, the requirements for initial verification and initial inspection and certification of electrical installations and generating installation reports.
Carrying out and recording of Condition Reports (Periodic Inspection & Testing)
Safe testing and commissioning and the completion of regulated documentation for a typical electrical installation.
As you will already be a practising electrician no practical Inspection & Testing training will be given, you will cover the theory required to undertake the examination and familiarity of our test instruments.
Course Assessment
The assessments for this qualification are 60 question open book examination (on line).
The learner will also undertake the initial verification and periodic inspection & testing practical assessment and a written examination.
Employer Benefits
The employer receives a competent electrical person who can inspect installations to a Level 3 standard in Award in Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting.
Materials
All class based materials will be provided but you will require IET Guidance Note 3, BS7671 and Onsite Guide.

This qualification will lead to further study onto various Electrotechnical qualifications
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification learners must be 19+ years old and have the potential through their job role to complete the elements of the course.
Previous Electrical Installation knowledge and experience is essential. Evidence shall be required to be provided by either holding a L3 Diploma or NVQ L3 Electrical Qualification and to be working in the Electrical sector, or have worked in the sector for more than 5 years and evidence through professional discussion prior to enrolment. This will be assessed by a formal interview and skills scan.
If you do not meet the requirements for this qualification you may be considered for C&G 2391-50 Award in Initial Verification of Electrical Installations.
