Course Summary
Following on from the Animal Management, HNC, Level 4 programme, this one year top up course is designed for students wanting to work within the animal sector. It further develops knowledge and understanding of the industry and individual animals as well as developing the research skills that are invaluable for working within a zoo or research environment.
Course Content
This qualification includes the following: biological principles, animal behaviour, animal adaptations, wildlife management and teaching a specialist subject. There will also be work placement opportunities in a variety of animal management settings.
Course Assessment
This course is assessed through a series of written assignments with some practical work and presentations.
Materials
All class-based materials will be provided but you will need to provide sturdy, waterproof footwear such as boots and warm clothing and PPE for practical work.
Progression
Successful completion of this course would enable progression to the final year of a complimentary Animal Management degree programme.
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification learners must have completed a HNC in Animal Management.
