Associateship in Glass

This course prepares learners who are semi professional or creative practioners with keen interest in glass for a career in Art and Design. This is not a course but an opportunity to use the glass workshops (outside timetabled lesson times) and have technical support. The glass blowing facilities are available all day on Friday as is technical support. Access to flame working, cold working, cutting rooms and design studios are available by negotiation other days and times throughout the year, However access to glass blowing facilities is Fridays only due to its use by other courses.

There are no assessments throughout this course.

All class-based materials will be provided and all glass materials provided within reason for example the use of colours, hot glass and specialist glass materials can be used for experimentation and are encouraged for that use, as is specialist glass for the production of final work. However work that is considered to be of a large scale or the use of large quantities of glass may incur an additional materials cost especially if they are being produced on a regular basis.

This qualification may lead to employment in the industry of Glass Work or to further study/higher education.
