Course Summary
This course offers a level 3 technical qualification that will provide learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training or study in the Fashion and Textiles sector. The core knowledge and understanding will be assessed through an examination and core skills through a practical employer-set project.
This qualification is designed to support learners who are interested in a career Fashion & Textiles, as part of the programme of study the learner will complete a significant industrial placement. This is a two-year, full-time course that will give the learner the options of moving into a skilled occupation, further study i.e., higher or degree level apprenticeship or higher education.
Course Content
On this course you will study topics including:
The creative economy,
The individual in the creative industries,
Cultural context and vocabulary,
Legislation/ regulation,
Professionalism and ethics,
Equality, diversity and inclusion,
Research skills,
Project methodology and administration,
Continued professional development.
Textiles and sewn products, the disciplines and associated techniques required i.e. stitch, knit, weave and print.
Students may make products for a range of contexts and settings. They will be required to work with more than one material and experiment with different processes, tools and techniques.
You will complete an industry placement of 315 hours (45 days) minimum.
Course Assessment
You will be assessed through an exam-based assessment. The core knowledge and understanding are assessed through an examination and core skills through a practical employer-set project.
Qualifications
T Level Technical Qualification in Craft & Design. This T level is equivalent to three A levels.

Students completing this course usually go on to further study in degree related programmes at university or into employment.
