Course Summary
The Level 5 Apprenticeship in Management & Leadership is developed for operations or departmental managers, someone who manages teams and/or projects as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy.
They can be accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector, key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and Specialist or Branch Managers.
The apprenticeship provides a programme of study that encompasses competence & technical elements of operations management. It offers the opportunity to gain both a sought after qualification from the Chartered Management Institute, CMI, and development and recognition of highly transferrable work skills, knowledge & behaviours.
Successful apprentices will gain the Level 5 Certificate in Leadership & Management, as well as Chartered Manager status, with the post nominals of CMgr, along with 3 months free membership of CMI.
Course Content
A structured programme of study, encompassing:
*Operational Leadership
*Managing teams to achieve results
*Managing stakeholder relationships
* Managing projects to achieve results
*Managing change
*Creating & delivering operational plans
*Managing finance
*Reflective practice to inform P&P development
This is combined with the development of workplace skills, knowledge & behaviours.
Course Assessment
Apprentices will work towards final assessments conducted by CMI, End Point Assessment (EPA) includes:
*Professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence, which is developed throughout the programme, with a minimum duration of 1 hour.
*Creation of a Project Proposal & Presentation, underpinned by questioning, with a minimum duration of 40 minutes.

Progression
Successful completion of the Apprenticeship facilitates the learner progressing to the Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management and Leadership, which will enable them to access the Chartered Manager Degree. The CMI range of qualifications extends to Masters and PhD levels.
Entry Requirements
Individual employers will set their own selection criteria. This can include a minimum of Level 2 Maths and English. Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 prior to taking final assessments.
