Course Content
This level is ideal level for a learner progressing from C&G 2850 Certificate Level 1 and a school leaver with some engineering knowledge and experience, or you require some engineering skills in your role. You will develop your understanding and practical experience of specific engineering technologies.
Units:
Unit 201 Working in engineering
Unit 206 milling and turning techniques
Unit 213 computer aided design
Unit 225 Engineering maintenance techniques
Course Assessment
The assessments for this qualification are on-line exams, written exams and practical assessments.

Materials
All class-based materials will be provided but you will need to provide stationary and a scientific calculator. Students are also required to purchase their own protective footwear, overalls and safety glasses

Progression
This qualification could lead to employment in the industry of Engineering or to further study / higher education. The usual progression route is onto a level 2/3 apprenticeship or a full time Level 3 Engineering course
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification, learners must have achieved a City & Guilds 2850 Level 1 qualification in Engineering. However, previous experience/qualifications in engineering would be considered. The learner must also contain at least grade 3 in GCSE English, ideally a grade 4 in GCSE Maths or L2 Functional Skills plus 3 other GCSE's at grade 3 minimum.
