Course Content
This dynamic and exciting course allows you the opportunity to develop your acting, vocal and physical technique as well as studying approaches to character and text.
Through practical performance-based workshops you will develop a variety of acting styles and techniques. As a performer you will also be required to undertake independent rehearsal and research to stretch and challenge your individual potential.
Major productions and devised performances throughout the course will allow you to apply the skills and knowledge you gain. Our team of teachers will be able to offer knowledge, experience and expertise and you will also develop skills and techniques with industry specialists who will come in and work with you.
Course Assessment
You will be assessed through a range of practical and written assignments. External moderation of some units is likely. The form of assessment on the course will assist you as you progress either into higher levels of vocational learning or to related academic qualifications.
Materials
You will need performance clothing: black movement trousers (leggings or joggers), black t-shirt, jazz shoes are optional. The college has a variety of play texts and reference books available in the Library at The Broadway Campus and through your tutors. You will be expected to attend theatre visits as part of your wider theatrical education and costs will vary.
Entry Requirements
You must have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (including English) or a First Diploma Performing Arts at Merit Grade. You will need to attend an audition and interview where you will perform a prepared monologue from a published text.
