Course Summary
This course is designed for students with special educational needs or disabilities working at around level 1 progressing from other art or media courses at lower levels. The course is for students with an interest in art, mixed media, or who may like to pursue a career or further study in the arts.
Transition Creative Media focuses on developing students’ interpersonal skills, time management & organisational skills, social skills as well as units specific to media and creativity as a means of preparation for their next steps.
Course Content

2D mixed media
Craft skills
Enterprise project
Craft design project
Course Assessment
A portfolio of evidence will be collated using a range of media including: photographs, videos, work products, observation, witness testimony, question / answer etc.
Materials
Drawing pad
Art resources – fine liner, coloured pens/pencils, carry case or folder
Contribution to external trips/visits

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements to study for this qualification, but you must demonstrate a genuine interest in this subject, be prepared to follow high standards of behaviour and display a positive attitude to study.
You must be prepared to be working towards GCSE English and GCSE Maths, or a Functional Skill at Entry 3 level or above.
An initial assessment of your English and maths may be required depending on your qualifications to check you have the skills needed to successfully complete this course.
