Course Summary
Sport Science is a multidisciplinary field that explores the scientific principles underpinning physical activity, exercise, and sports performance. It integrates knowledge from biology, physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and nutrition to understand how the human body and mind respond to exercise and training.
Course Content
There are many elements to the area of sport science and depending on the level of course that you start with us you can look forward to studying many of these topics during your time with us including:
• exercise programming
• sports coaching
• biomechanical analysis
• functional anatomy
• physiology
• sport and exercise physiology
• applied sport and exercise psychology
• nutrition
• understanding human performance and health
• applied research methods in sport and exercise science
• coaching for performance and fitness
Course Assessment
You are assessed by a variety of methods including:
• Practical observations
• Oral questioning
• Written modular tests.
• Production of a portfolio of evidence
• Internally and externally set assignments and/or examinations
• A period of work experience between 50 and 450 hours depending on the level
Materials
General stationery and a USB pen. We have put a dress code package together at a cost of approximately £100 based on the needs of students for their course, Team Sports training and work experience. You will need to pre-order the package during enrolment. Please note: Prices are subject to change.
