Apprentices

An apprenticeship is a real job combined with studying, allowing you to gain nationally recognised qualifications and competencies whilst earning a wage.

Apprenticeships are a great option if you are 16 or over and leaving school or college, already have a career path in mind, and are looking for a way to earn money while you study.

But they aren’t just for school leavers. If you already work in a job you enjoy, with the support of your employer, an apprenticeship will allow you to upskill and get the qualifications you need to progress in your career.

Apprentices earn and learn at the same time and gain valuable hands-on experience along with new skills and knowledge in the workplace. You will usually be at work for four days a week, and at college one day a week to complete the necessary theory and skills development for your qualification although some Apprenticeships are delivered entirely in the workplace and others may be block release to college.

Apprenticeships not only lead to a fulfilling career but also funded pathways to higher education so you can achieve a degree while working and without the usual university debt!
