Lead Adult Care Workers play a pivotal role in adult social care services. In addition to supporting individuals with care and support needs, they take on greater responsibility for supervising colleagues, promoting best practice and ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered. They help adults live as independently and safely as possible while maintaining dignity, choice and control over their lives.

What will Apprentices Learn?
Apprentices develop advanced care knowledge, leadership skills and professional behaviours required to support both service users and care teams.
Training combines workplace learning, observations, coaching, professional discussions and portfolio development, ensuring learning is applied directly within the workplace

Qualifications included
A key benefit of this apprenticeship is the inclusion of recognised sector qualifications.
Apprentices will achieve:
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
- Care Certificate
- English and maths qualifications where required
These qualifications provide the knowledge and competence required for senior care and supervisory roles and are mandatory gateway requirements before End-Point Assessment.
Entry Requirements
Apprentices should be employed in a suitable role that allows them to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the occupational standard.
Apprentices should also hold a grade 4 or equivalent in both GCSE English and maths (or Functional Skills in English and maths).
Apprentices may be required to work towards English and maths qualifications as part of their apprenticeship where appropriate. We will provide advice on the requirements that apply to your apprentice and support them throughout their learning journey.
How is the Apprentice Assessed?
Apprentices are assessed throughout the programme through workplace observations, portfolio evidence, discussions and professional reviews.
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) includes:
• Situational Judgement Test
• Professional Discussion
The professional discussion is informed by evidence gathered throughout the apprenticeship, including workplace practice and testimonies from those supported.
