Apprenticeship Summary
Build the next generation of administrative talent
The Administration Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship is an excellent way to recruit new talent or develop existing employees in an entry-level administrative role. Apprentices gain the practical knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to provide effective administrative support while developing the confidence to make a positive contribution to your organisation from day one.
Is this apprenticeship right for your business?
Whether you're recruiting your first apprentice or investing in your existing workforce, this apprenticeship develops the core administrative skills needed to support the smooth running of any organisation.
Suitable for employers across the public, private and voluntary sectors, apprentices will learn while working, helping your business become more productive while building a pipeline of future talent.
What will Apprentices Learn?
Apprentices will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in an administrative support role.
As part of the apprenticeship, apprentices will complete planned off-the-job training, which includes college-based sessions, workplace coaching, online learning, project work and other structured training activities.
Programme content includes:
• Business administration principles and workplace procedures
• Effective communication and customer service
• Using digital systems and office technologies
• Managing records, information and documents
• Planning, organising and prioritising work
• Working effectively as part of a team
• Professional behaviours and continuous improvement
Learning combines expert teaching with practical workplace experience, enabling apprentices to apply their new skills and knowledge in your organisation from day one.
We'll work with you to deliver this learning in a way that supports both the apprentice's development and the needs of your business.
Entry Requirements
This standard is currently limited to apprentices aged under 25 only.
Apprentices should be employed in a suitable administrative role that enables them to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours outlines within the occupational standard.
Apprentices should also hold a grade 1 or equivalent in both GCSE English and maths.
Apprentices may be required to work towards English and maths qualifications as part of their apprenticeship where appropriate. We will provide advice on the requirements that apply to your apprentice and support them throughout their learning journey.
How is the Apprentice Assessed?
Apprentices are assessed throughout the programme to monitor their progress and development. At the end of the apprenticeship, apprentices complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA) carried out by an approved End-Point Assessment Organisation. This confirms they have achieved the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the occupational standard.
We will prepare both employers and apprentices for every stage of the assessment process.
