Apprenticeship Summary
The Bricklayer - Level 2 Apprenticeship is an excellent way to recruit and develop skilled tradespeople who can construct, repair and maintain the buildings and structures that form the backbone of the construction industry.
Bricklayers play a critical role in both new-build and refurbishment projects, creating walls, foundations, chimneys, arches and decorative masonry features. Their expertise ensures buildings are constructed safely, accurately and to the highest standards of quality and workmanship
Is this apprenticeship right for your business?
If your organisation is looking to address skills shortages, strengthen succession planning or develop practical construction skills within your workforce, this apprenticeship provides an effective solution.
Bricklayers work across a variety of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. They interpret technical drawings, prepare materials and construct brick, block and stone structures that meet building regulations and client requirements.
What will Apprentices Learn?
Apprentices develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to become competent bricklayers.

Professional Skills Development
The Bricklayer Apprenticeship focuses on developing occupational competence through workplace experience and technical training.
Apprentices gain extensive experience working with traditional and modern construction materials while developing industry-recognised knowledge, skills and behaviours.
The programme develops practical trade expertise alongside essential professional skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management and attention to detail.
Entry Requirements
Apprentices should be employed in a suitable role that allows them to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the occupational standard.
Apprentices should also hold a grade 3 or equivalent in both GCSE English and maths.
Apprentices may be required to work towards English and maths qualifications as part of their apprenticeship where appropriate. We will provide advice on the requirements that apply to your apprentice and support them throughout their learning journey.
