Throughout this course, you’ll gain hands-on experience grooming dogs from start to finish. You’ll learn how to prepare and safely handle dogs, carry out bathing and drying, brush and prepare coats, and complete basic trimming and finishing techniques.
You’ll work with a variety of breeds, coat types and temperaments, developing the confidence to adapt your grooming approach to suit each individual dog. You’ll also explore canine anatomy, behaviour, health, welfare and breed characteristics, and how these can influence the grooming process.
With a strong focus on practical learning, you’ll develop the knowledge, skills and professional approach needed to safely and effectively complete a basic groom from initial preparation through to the finished groom, in a supportive professional grooming environment.
