Why Study Here

First class facilities

Our campuses are home to some of the best facilities in the region. Over £50m has been invested in recent years, providing students with access to an outstanding learning environment with the latest facilities and equipment.

Specialist courses

We offer courses that you won’t find at sixth form and all our specialist programmes are taught in industry-standard facilities with the latest equipment. We work alongside the businesses you may want to work for in the future and they help us create the content of the courses we run, which means you’ll have the skills they are looking for when you leave us and go into the workplace.

Real work experience

Our courses will prepare you for your future career by providing you with real experiences of work. You will work with employers as part of work placements and on projects gaining an invaluable insight into you chosen career.

Brilliant student experience

Dudley College provides a relaxing and fun environment where you will be treated like an adult.  You will have lots of opportunities to grow and develop your skills outside of your studies.  Whether you want to represent the voice of students as a Student Ambassador, compete in competitions or simply continue doing what you enjoy as part of clubs and societies, you’re free to follow your passion and express yourself.

Practical learning

Many college courses include a practical element where you can develop important employability skills, such as communication, teamwork and time management. These skills will look great on your CV and help you get a job when you finish your college course.  A course may offer practical experience through classroom learning or a block placement or one day a week in the workplace. Alternatively, you might be trained in a realistic work environment such as an engineering workshop, a training restaurant, theatre or hair and beauty salon. This could give you useful experience of equipment and technology used in industry.

Supporting you

As well as expert teaching and tuition, you’ll have access to a full student support package, ensuring you have every chance to realise your potential and if you ever need a little support to get through rough patches we have trained counsellors at college who can help you.

Boosting your grades

We understand the importance of English and Maths in all aspects of your life, including the workplace. If you do not already hold a GCSE grade 4 or above (C or above) in these subjects, you will be required to attend additional classes. These classes will fit around your full-time course commitments and the level at which you will study will depend on your current GCSE grade.

Be yourself

We believe that everyone should be free to express themselves, which is why unless your course states you have to wear a uniform, you are free to wear your own clothes to college!

Location, location, location!

All our campuses are well located with great travel links and easy access to local shops, restaurants and cultural hotspots.

Make new friends

Studying at college can be a very sociable experience and you are likely to have more opportunity to meet new people than if you continued studying at school. Students come from all over the Black Country to study in Dudley, so your friendship circle will naturally widen. Getting involved in events and the Students’ Union will introduce you to friends from different backgrounds and walks of life and build your confidence socially.
