Course Summary

This course is aimed at students with special educational needs or disabilities with an interest in developing their knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel or Powerpoint and email as well as improving personal and social skills, employability and creativity. The course content comprises of mainly IT units alongside units specific to student wellbeing, social integration and work skills

Course Content

Units can (but aren't limited to) include:
Introduction to using ICT systems
Communicating information using IT
Using IT to find information
Using ICT to produce a text document
Dealing with problems in daily life
Emotional wellbeing
Developing self-awareness
Health & safety procedures at work
Working with time
Preparation for work

Course Assessment

Evidence will be collated using a range of media including: photographs, videos, work products, observation, witness testimony, question / answer etc.
