Course Summary

PASMA courses for users will equip you with the specialist knowledge you need to work safely with mobile access towers. This course is suitable for personnel who will be responsible for the assembly, dismantling, alteration and moving of mobile access towers.

Course Content

This qualification includes the following modules:
How to safely assemble, dismantle, alter and move mobile access towers
How to safely use mobile access towers
How to inspect mobile access towers
How to identify hazards relating to their use
What legislation, regulations and guidance are applicable to these towers

Course Assessment

The assessments for this qualification are that there will be a closed theory exam and a practical assessment, both will need to be passed at a minimum 80%.

Materials

All class-based materials will be provided but you will need to provide suitable head, footwear, eye and glove protection during the practical session. A hard hat is required, preferably with a chin strap.

Qualifications

A PASMA photo card will be issued to successful applicants who complete both the theory and practical assessments at the level required. (80%). Certificates will also be issued and all cards contain the expirey date.

Progression

This qualification will lead to employment in the industry of Construction or to further study/higher education. Successful delegates could progress to other courses for different tower configurations

Entry Requirements

For entry onto this qualification learners must have never used towers before, or already use towers but have never been formally trained, re-taking the course after an earlier qualification expires, It’s designed for operatives.
No formal qualifications are required, however it would be beneficial for candidates to have a basic understanding of work at height issues.
Since the safe use of mobile towers requires that you consult safety notices notices and read and understand the manufacturers instructions literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower user.

The assembly of towers demands a good level of physical fitness.
