Music as a course area encompasses the study and practice of creating, performing, and understanding music across various genres and forms. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, offering you a comprehensive education in both the art and science of music.
Course Content
If music is your passion you should consider a career in the music industry providing, our courses provide you with the opportunity to develop practical skills whilst gaining a broad knowledge and understanding of the music industry. Weekly technical workshops will focus on the development of musical, production and compositional skills. There is an emphasis on application of these skills through live projects, productions and performances providing excellent vocational experience. . Course Assessment
You will be assessed through a range of practical and written assignments. External moderation of some units is likely. The form of assessment on the course will assist you as you progress either into higher levels of vocational learning or to related academic qualifications.
Materials
All reading materials for this course are available from the college library. You will be required to pay £30 towards educational visits. You will also need to provide your own specialist musical instruments, excluding drum kit and keyboards. A pair of headphones and a data drive are essential.
