Course Summary
This course focuses on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for an installation electrician, it is formally assessed with designated end of year examinations.
Course Content
This qualification includes the following modules:
• Health and safety in building services engineering
• Principles of electrical science
• Electrical installations technology
• Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
• Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering
Course Assessment
The assessments for this qualification are assignments, multi-choice exams and assessments of practical skills in a formal setting.

Materials
All class-based materials will be provided but you will need to provide relevant books, which will be identified by your course tutor. You will also need to provide safety shoes and work trousers for any workshop sessions, at an approximate cost of £15.00 each. In addition to this, you will need to provide a hi vis, at an approximate cost of £5.00.

City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations
Progression
This qualification will lead to employment in the industry of building services engineering, or to further study or higher education.
This qualification will allow progression to the Level 3 Electro-technical City and Guilds Diploma in Electrical Installations or the 8202 Advanced Technical Diploma. In addition, an Electrical Apprenticeship studying the Level 3 Electro-technical City and Guilds 5357 qualification.
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification learners must have maths and English level 1 at initial assessment.
