Dudley College of Technology celebrates outstanding academic achievements across A Levels, T Levels and Vocational Courses

Dudley College of Technology is proud to celebrate another year of excellent student achievement, with learners across A Levels, T Levels and vocational programmes achieving impressive results that reflect their dedication, resilience, and hard work.

This year’s results highlight the exceptional quality of teaching, learning and support across the College, with strong outcomes across a wide range of subjects and qualifications.

Strong A Level Performance

Dudley College’s A Level students have once again achieved excellent results, with A*-B grades maintained and showing a slight improvement on the previous year. The proportion of students achieving the highest A*/A grades has also increased, continuing the College’s progress in narrowing the gap with national school and sixth form performance.

An impressive 26 out of 31 A Level subjects achieved a 100% pass rate, demonstrating the strength and consistency of provision across the College.

Particularly noteworthy achievements include:

• Photography, Graphics and Textiles all securing 100% A-C grades*
• Nine A Level courses improving their proportion of high grades.

T Level Students Excel

T Level students have delivered some of the strongest results since the qualification’s introduction, with the proportion of learners achieving a Distinction rising by 16% to 31.3%.

Overall, 79% of students achieved above a pass grade, reflecting the growing success of these industry-focused qualifications.

Outstanding departmental performances include:

• Education and Early Years: 100% of students achieved above a pass grade, with an exceptional 87% achieving Distinction grades against a national rate of 33%.
• Digital Production, Design and Development: 94% achieved above a pass grade.
• Digital Support Services: 86.4% achieved above a pass grade.
• Health: 81% achieved above a pass grade

The College also celebrated the success of the first T Level cohorts in new areas of delivery including:

• T Level Animal Care and Management: 55% achieved a Distinction and 77.8% achieved above a pass grade
• T Level Accounts: 57% achieved a Distinction and 100% achieved above a pass grade

Across the College, ten of the twelve T Level subject areas saw more than half of students achieve either a Distinction or Merit grade, underlining the growing strength of these programmes.

Exceptional Vocational Results

Students studying vocational qualifications also achieved outstanding results.

For NCFE Extended Health and Social Care, the College secured a 100% pass rate, while the proportion of learners achieving A-C grades rose significantly to 76.9%, an increase of 14.7 percentage points on the previous year.

Performance on BTEC Extended Diploma programmes was equally impressive:

• Overall pass rates increased to 96.6%, up 1% on the previous year.
• Students achieving the highest DDD grades increased to 43%, up 4.3 percentage points on 2024/25.

Standout subject performances included:

• Sport and Exercise: 55% achieved DDD grades.
• Art and Design Practice: 55% achieved DDD grades.
• Performing Arts Practice: 66% achieved DDD grades.

In general, technical education Dudley College’s Electrical students outperformed those across the country with a 74.3% pass rate against 66% nationally.
