What will Apprentices Learn?
Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide safe, person-centred care and support.
Training combines workplace learning, professional coaching, observations, discussions and structured off-the-job training, enabling apprentices to apply their learning directly within their care setting.
The programme is delivered in the workplace.

Apprentices learn how to support service users with daily living activities while monitoring their comfort, wellbeing and progress, ensuring care is delivered with compassion and professionalism.
Learning combines expert support with practical workplace experience,
enabling apprentices to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
We'll
work closely with you to ensure learning meets both organisational priorities
and the apprentice's development needs.
Qualifications included
As part of the apprenticeship, apprentices will complete the Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard and may be required to achieve English and maths qualifications where applicable. Dudley College also incorporates workplace competency development and portfolio building to support successful achievement of the programme.
Entry Requirements
Apprentices should be employed in a suitable role that allows them to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the occupational standard.
Apprentices should also hold a grade 3 or equivalent in both GCSE English and maths.
Apprentices may be required to work towards English and maths qualifications as part of their apprenticeship where appropriate. We will provide advice on the requirements that apply to your apprentice and support them throughout their learning journey.
