Is this apprenticeship right for your business?

If your organisation needs adaptable, highly skilled employees who can manage priorities, solve problems and support business performance, this apprenticeship is an excellent investment.

Business Administrators work across functions and departments, supporting internal and external customers while ensuring processes run smoothly. They contribute to organisational effectiveness through strong communication, organisation, digital skills and professional behaviours.

What will Apprentices Learn?

Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to become confident and effective business professionals.

As part of the programme, apprentices complete planned off-the-job training through a combination of college-based learning, workplace coaching, online learning, projects and structured development activities.

The programme is delivered on a day release basis.

Programme content includes:

• Business operations and organisational processes
• Record and document production
• Effective communication and customer service
• Stakeholder management and engagement
• Decision making and problem solving
• Project management and process improvement
• Digital systems and business technologies
• Data handling and information management
• Professional behaviours and personal effectiveness
• Managing priorities, workload and deadlines

Apprentices also develop strong IT skills, learning how to use business systems and software to analyse data, improve processes and support organisational objectives.

Learning combines expert teaching with practical workplace application, enabling apprentices to make an immediate impact while developing skills that support long-term career progression.

We'll work closely with you to ensure training is aligned to the needs of both the apprentice and your organisation.

We'll work closely with you to ensure the apprenticeship supports both your business objectives and the apprentice's career progression.

Entry Requirements

Apprentices should be employed in a suitable role that allows them to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the occupational standard.

Apprentices should also hold a grade 3 or equivalent in both GCSE English and maths.

Apprentices may be required to work towards English and maths qualifications as part of their apprenticeship where appropriate. We will provide advice on the requirements that apply to your apprentice and support them throughout their learning journey.

How is the Apprentice Assessed?

Apprentices are assessed throughout the programme through ongoing learning, workplace activities and progress reviews.
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) includes:

• Knowledge Test
• Portfolio-Based Interview
• Project Improvement Presentation and Question & Answer Session

These assessment methods ensure apprentices can demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of a successful Business Administrator.

We will prepare both employers and apprentices for every stage of the assessment process.
