On Thursday 11 June, Dudley College of Technology honoured outstanding learners at its annual Celebrating Success Awards Evening, recognising achievements from across the college community.
Held in the Conference Hall at the Black Country Living Museum, the event brought together learners, staff, family members and guests for an evening dedicated to celebrating hard work, commitment and success.
Awards were presented across all 50 curriculum areas, alongside three special honours recognising exceptional Contributions to College Life, Community Service and Sustainability.
The evening began with a buffet dinner and drinks reception before guests were treated to a live performance from Year 1 Level 3 Music Performance and Production students. Fresh from a recent appearance at the River Rooms, the talented group performed a selection of songs from their repertoire, to entertain the audience. The performance was supported by fellow students providing sound production and featured a mix of alternative 80s funk and soul music under the guidance of tutor Matt Dudley.
The awards ceremony was hosted by Vice Principals Claire Millard and Rachel Corns, with Chief Executive and Principal Diana Martin presenting awards to the winners.
As each recipient took to the stage, citations written by tutors highlighted their achievements, dedication and impact. One tutor described their award winner as “the best student I have seen for several years, their attention to detail and work ethic are second to none,” while many praised learners as “a pleasure to teach.”
The evening provided a fitting celebration of the talent, determination and positive contribution of Dudley College learners, recognising not only academic excellence but also the difference students make to college life and the wider community.
