Julius Adams
Julius joined the full Corporation in November 2024 after serving on the Standards Committee since November 2022. With over 10 years of experience at the Office for National Statistics (ONS), he has worked on data collection to inform government decisions and spending priorities. Julius is also a Governor for the Dudley Group NHS University Foundation Trust and a former director of KIC FM, a youth radio station. He has 29 years of experience in education delivery and management, specialising in creative subjects across FE colleges, schools, and training environments, alongside roles at DEFRA, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Justice. A graduate of City of Birmingham University in Teaching and Visual Communications & Photography, Julius is also a musician and a second tenor with the Dudley Gentlemen Songsters choir. Julius serves as Vice Chair of the Standards Committee.
Kaynat Ahmad
Kaynat Ahmad currently serves as President of the Dudley College Students’ Union for the academic year 2025/26. A dedicated and passionate student leader, she began her journey at Dudley College as a full-time student, successfully completing her Level 2 qualification in Information Technology.
During her time as a student at the College, Kaynat held the role of Inspired Campus Leader at the Brierley Hill Learning Quarter, where she worked actively to enhance the student experience. Her leadership was characterised by a strong commitment to inclusivity, collaboration and advocacy.
As Students’ Union President, Kaynat is focused on transforming student feedback into meaningful change, amplifying underrepresented voices, addressing systemic challenges, and leading initiatives that improve campus life. She brings energy, empathy and a results-driven mindset to her role, working closely with students, staff and external partners to create a stronger, more supportive educational environment. Kaynat serves on the Corporation’s Standards Committee.
Lord Austin of Dudley
Ian was appointed as a member of the Corporation in November 2020. He was the Member of Parliament for Dudley North from 2005 until 2019 and was appointed to the House of Lords in 2020 as Lord Austin of Dudley. He was brought up in Dudley where he attended local schools. He served on Dudley Council from 1991 to 1995. In Parliament he served as a government whip, Minister at the Department for Communities and Local Government and Minister for the West Midlands. He took a close interest in education and foreign policy issues and sat on both the Educations and Foreign Affairs select committees. Ian Austin is the representative of Dudley College Corporation as Sponsor Member of Dudley Academies Trust. Liam Butler
Liam was appointed as a member of the Corporation in February 2020. He currently holds the position of Senior Manager – Treasury and Financial reporting at Secure Trust Bank. Prior to this he was Head of Financial Reporting at Lovell Partnerships and Head of Finance at Dudley Building Society. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and also holds a degree from Coventry University in Accounting & Finance. He serves on the Corporation’s Audit Committee and Search Committee.
