Course Summary
The ability to supervise and lead individuals and teams to success is arguably the most important skill a leader can possess. This course focuses on the essential management and leadership skills required to fulfil this challenging but rewarding role.
Course Content
For the CMI Award you will study 1 unit (4 credits), for the Certificate you will study 3-4 units (13 credits) and for the Diploma 7 units (37 credits).
This qualification includes a focus on the theoretical and practical approaches to developing, leading, and managing teams (remote or multidisciplinary). The leader will look at techniques to assess current and future team capabilities, including the roles within a team, the principles of leadership and developing yourself as a leader.
Course Assessment
The assessments for this qualification are practical work-based assignments. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation’s context.

Qualifications
CMI Level 3 in the Principles of Leadership and Management.
You will be awarded CMI accreditation per unit which will include a Level 3 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Leadership and Management depending on the number of units completed.
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification learners will be practising or aspiring managers or supervisors with good literacy and numeracy skills. Candidates should ideally have a minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership position.

- If the course is funded by the Department for Education (DfE) / WMCA and you meet certain criteria (such as this being the first qualification of this type and level you are studying, or unemployed, or working for a low wage).
Your personal circumstances and the funding available to you will be discussed at enrolment, if would useful if you bring evidence including proof of income / benefits; proof of age (i.e. driving licence); prior qualifications.
English & Maths: If you have not previously achieved GCSE grade C or above in English and/or maths, you can study these for free.
