Course Summary
This course is aimed at candidates that have achieved a Level 3 in Electrotechnical and ideally working within the trade. It is a College Certificated course that is designed to upskill candidates in control circuits and motor starting fundamentals.
Course Content
• Direct On Line Motor Starters
• Start Delta Motor Starters
• Forward and Reverse Motor Control
• Cascade Control
• Use of Control Circuit Timers
• General Fault Finding on Motor Control Circuits
• Testing and Commissioning of Control Circuits
• Soft start and entry level inventor control
• Basic Tests carried out to check motor condition
Course Assessment
This course is 80% which each module having a practical assessment task.
Employer Benefits
This courses develops skills to enable them to install control circuitry and carryout basic fault finding.
Progression
You would be given the opportunity to undertake a PLC programming course based at the Black Country & Marches Institute of Technology.

English & Maths: If you have not previously achieved GCSE grade C or above in English and/or maths, you can study these for free.
