Course Summary

This course focuses on supporting learners to develop skills in creating a brand identity. This could be for a business, charity or corporate organisation. It builds on digital skills using the Adobe Creative Cloud and considers cultural context ad the core values of branding.

This course is suitable for adults who want to develop their skills in marketing, graphics and those who want to be able to make their own branding for a company.

Course Content

On this course you will learn,

• Evaluate the impact of branding and identity
• Develop a branding style to support your target audience and client
• Present your final final branding work as a portfolio to show your skills

Course Assessment

You will be assessed through the production of work in each session and your final portfolio.

Qualifications

You will achieve a college certificate for the completion of Branding and Identity.

Progression

Students who complete this course often study other courses in the creative industries relating to graphics and photography. Skills learnt can lead to jobs in,

Your portfolio will support applications to creative courses at university.

Entry Requirements

A basic knowledge of using software in a creative context such as the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Funding may be available to support your learning as an adult (aged 19+) studying at Dudley College in the following circumstances:

  • If the course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and they have given us permission to offer it at no cost to you and live in the WMCA area.
  • If the course is part of the ‘Free Courses for Jobs’ government scheme and you are unemployed or working for a low wage.
  • If the course is funded by the Department for Education (DfE) / WMCA and you meet certain criteria (such as this being the first qualification of this type and level you are studying, or unemployed, or working for a low wage).

Your personal circumstances and the funding available to you will be discussed at enrolment, if would useful if you bring evidence including proof of income / benefits; proof of age (i.e. driving licence); prior qualifications.

English & Maths: If you have not previously achieved GCSE grade C or above in English and/or maths, you can study these for free.
