School Taster Activities
Our School Taster Activities are the perfect opportunity for your school groups to try out the course(s) they are interested in, before they join us! These taster activities are offered on a first come, first served basis and will take place during the school day at the campus the course is delivered at.
Please note these tasters available for school groups only. If you’re a student and would like to attend one of these Taster Activities, please speak to your school Careers Lead. You can also find out more about our School Leaver Taster Events, which take place after school time and students can book themselves onto directly.
What can we offer you?
There’s an exciting range of subjects to choose from, all offering your students the chance to immerse themselves into college life, speak to our lecturers and meet like-minded students who may be on the course with them.

Here’s what’s on offer:
Explore the world of animal management by looking at the biology and ethical considerations of looking after animals.
- Date: Monday Afternoons

Explore what our science course, as well as science based career pathways, can offer you after GCSE level during our interactive taster experience.
- Date: Fridays

During this introduction to Games Design, you will explore Character Development and learn how to apply drawing skills to Creative Games Design.
- Date: Mondays in March and April
- Time: 3.00pm – 4.30pm

Get involved with our Computing and IT taster where you will explore Problem Solving for IT solutions. Here you will look at solutions from coding and software to technical systems support.
- Date: Tuesdays in March and April
- Time: 1.30pm – 3.00pm

Engage in a Surveying and Design taster session where we will introduce you to the course and the construction and engineering industry.
- Date: 3rd or 10th March, 3rd or 10th April, 3rd or 10th May, 14th or 21st June
- Time: 10.00am – 12.00pm

Get involved in a storytelling workshop led by groups of our current students. This workshop will explore different themes through dance and teach students movements around a specific idea, ending in a Q&A where you can get your questions answered.
- Date: Tuesdays or Fridays from 22nd March onwards

- Maximum Group Size: 2 groups of 20-25 Students

Have the chance to work in a professional film studio interviewing, directing and using professional industry standard equipment.
- Date: Tuesdays in March and April
- Time: 3.00pm – 4.30pm

Explore the theme of positive portraits and work in our darkroom on photograms to gain valuable skills.
