Course Summary
Level 3 is ideal if you've worked in hairdressing or barbering for some time and want to develop your skills in a specialised area. You might want a broad qualification or to learn a particular technique.
Course Content
The course consists of a variety of Hairdressing units:
•Monitor and Maintain Health and Safety Practice in the Salon
•Consultation Support for Hair Services
•Style and Dress Hair to Create a Variety of Techniques
•Colour Hair to Create a Variety of Lokks
•Creative Hairdressing Design Skills
•Hair Colour Correction
Course Assessment
You are assessed by a variety of methods including:
• Practical observations
• Oral questioning
• Written modular tests.
• Production of a portfolio of evidence
You are expected to take part in the college's work experience programme and open days during your course of study.

Entry Requirements
You must be operating at Level 2, have salon industrial experience and hold a Full Level 2 hairdressing qualification.
Initial assessment in Maths, English at L2 or GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths , and a willingness to continue to study Maths and English to improve your grades if required.
You must be prepared to run your own column within a salon to gain Level 3 experience and assessment opportunities.
A successful interview, including a trade test, is required.
