Engineering (Manufacturing Technology) C&G 2850-20 Certificate Level 2

This level is ideal level for a learner progressing from C&G 2850 Certificate Level 1 and a school leaver with some engineering knowledge and experience, or you require some engineering skills in your role. You will develop your understanding and practical experience of specific engineering technologies.

This qualification includes the following modules:

Madatroy units:
Unit 201 Working in engineering
Unit 202 Principles of engineering technology

Optional units:
Unit 203 Principles of manufacturing technology
Unit 204 Machine components using milling techniques
Unit 206 Using bench fitting techniques
Unit 209 Assembling and maintaining fluid power systems
Unit 210 Maintenance of mechanical devices and equipment

The assessments for this qualification are on-line exams, written exams and practical assessments.

This course will prepare the learners for gaining practical skills as well as knowledge requirements to enable them to have viable awareness when gaining an apprenticeship.
An understanding and practical experience of specific engineering technologies.

All class-based materials will be provided but you will need to provide stationary and a scientific calculator. Students are also required to purchase their own protective footwear, overalls and safety glasses.

Engineering (Manufacturing Technology) C&G 2850-20 Certificate - Level 2

This qualification will lead to employment in the industry of Engineering or to further study / higher education. The usual progression route is onto a level 2/3 apprenticeship or a full time Level 3 Engineering course

For entry onto this qualification, learners must have achieved a City & Guilds 2850 Level 1 qualification in Engineering. However, previous experience/qualifications in engineering would be considered. The learner must also contain atleast grade 3 in GCSE English, ideally a grade 4 in GCSE Maths or L2 Functional Skills plus 3 other GCSE's at grade 3 minimum.
