Course Summary
This level 3 course is direct progression from Engineering (Manufacturing Technology) C&G 2850-20 Certificate - Level 2
This level is ideal for experienced learners with an understanding and practical experience of specialist engineering technologies and principles.
Course Content
This qualification includes the following modules:
Compulsory units:
Unit 301 - Engineering health & safety
Unit 302 - Engineering Principles
Optional units:
Unit 307 - Principles of mechanical manufacturing engineering
Unit 323 - Machining materials by turning
Unit 324 - Machining materials by milling
Unit 329/326 - Produce drawings using CAD/CNC
Course Assessment
The assessments for this qualification are on-line exams, written exams and practical assessments
Materials
All class-based materials will be provided but you will need to provide stationary and a scientific calculator. Students are also required to purchase their own protective footwear, overalls and safety glasses

Progression
This qualification will lead to employment in the industry of Engineering or to further study / higher education. These might include a level 3 apprenticeship or a HNC at Dudley College.
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification, learners must have achieved the Engineering (Manufacturing Technology) C&G 2850-20 Certificate - Level 2 (or equivalent) to progress to Engineering (Manufacturing) C&G Diploma 2850-34 - Level 3. Candidates would also be required to have GCSE grade 4 (C) in English and maths or L2 Functional Skills in Maths and 2 other subjects.
