Course Summary
The Bridging to HNC course covers the areas of mathematics required for entry to an HNC in Engineering.
Course Content
This qualification includes the following modules:
Algebra
Graphical methods
Dynamics
Statics
Trigonometry/ Wave forms
Calculus - including turning points, product rule, quotient rule, chain rule.
Complex numbers.
Trigonometry: compound angle formulae.
Course Assessment
The assessments for this qualification are coursework/homework (between 30 and 60mins per week) and a class based test.
Materials
All class-based materials will be provided.
Progression
This qualification will lead to further study/higher education, namely the HNC Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
The full cost of a HNC delivered over two years is £7000 at Dudley College of Technology
Entry Requirements
For entry onto this qualification learners must meet the requirements for the HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with the exception of the mathematical skills.
